In the past week I've been overwhelmed with requests for material. Two fulls, two partials, and lunch with an editor.
Did he say lunch with an editor?
Yes, I said lunch with an editor. I was invited to lunch with a senior editor from Kensington Press. I don't know if it will amount to anything more than free food, but he seems very nice and he seems interested in my book. *Fingers crossed*
How did I do it. Persistence. I've been rejected a few times so far--and I don't deal with rejection well--but I kept onward and upward and whatnot.
I studied Learning Writing With Uncle Jim, did the work, and I really like the results. Obviously I'm not the only one. I'd like to take the credit for this, but the credit goes to those who showed me how.
I hope to be able to share that knowledge with others someday. It was freely shared with me, so it's a way of paying it forward.
