I signed a contract today to put A Life Gone Awry: My Story of the Elan School into print. I asked Danny if he minded and he said no. The proceeds will go to organizations that fight abuse in programs. CAFETY and Program Watch are the first two on the list. If there's any real money more will be added.
Danny and I are moving on. There are kids being beaten and tortured every day in the name of therapy, for the purpose of making money. Autistic children are being beaten with sticks and killed by employees who couldn't get a cab drivers license in New York City. It has to end.
A Life Gone Awry will always be on the internet for free, so if you can't afford the book i understand. I can't. :D
But if you can afford to buy a copy the money goes to a good cause, and awareness is the real goal. It'd be cool of ya. Thank you

ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful Wayne! I will buy a copy, definitely. You're doing such good in this world, Wayne. I'm privileged to know you, even if it's only online. You're a good man and have experienced so much. I think it's incredible how open you are to share such painful memories, even if saves only one child's life.
ReplyDeleteLife seems to throw some of us a curve ball---it's how you swing the bat that counts. You've come back swinging and hitting home runs!! All the best with your new contract!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou Go Baby! I'm telling everyone I know. Tell me when it's published & I'll make sure it hits the bookstores here. I have a few friends who'll be getting it for Xmas. Congrats!!

ReplyDeleteHow cool would it be to save just one kid's life? After all the shit I've done, that would be a big check in the positive column. :D
ReplyDeleteOne would make it all worth it. I shoot for the stars though, dinna I tell ya? :)
I thank you all.
